Queens University Varsity Football

Queens University homecoming is associated with two things, parties and football.  This year the Tri-Colour took on Laurier.  It was a fantastic day for the game, and everyone was pumped.  I've honestly never been to a football game of any level of competition, not even high school football.  The sound of the feet during a rush, followed by the smashing of player tackles is increadible.  The sheer force at which players throw themselves at their opponent is really intense; I can see why football careers can end so quickly.
Back to the game, it was intense  with Queens and Laurier being tied after 4 quarters and so they advanced into overtime.  Laurier had the first attempt at overtime and failed to gain a touchdown, Queens prevailed with a down in their attempt.  What a game, the fans, players all on the field the energy from everyone celebrating was exhilarating.
Although I enjoyed the game and meeting other photographers, I was disappointed at one thing, my photography gear.  I was missing two of my lenses, mainly my 70-200mm.  In replace I had fall back on my all around 18-200mm lens which is fine, however it totally limits my camera in more ways then just light and picture quality.  Next year with the football season I'll look forward to using my good lenses, grab some really great quality photos.
Wells, without more chit chat, I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them.

Cheers,

Jason

Autumn Family Photo Fun….

This fall was a busy one with photographing for the athletics department at Queens University, wrapping up all the equestrian photography from the late summer and some concert photography in there too.
On top of all this I was ecstatic to be able to photograph some families enjoying good times with the fall colours and crisp air.  I want to thank the Pengelly Family, the LeSarge Family and the Briand Family.  Knowing all the families and to see them all grow is a really special thing and to be able to capture these moments for them to look back on is makes this job worth every minute.

I have a busy couple weeks coming up with the last weeks of 2013 coming to an end, a wedding, family shoot and preparation for a local hockey tournament.  I hope to get some more photos from my concerts I've photographed, maybe pick out my favourite shots from this past year.

Well, that's enough talk, enjoy the photos of these beautiful families.  Cheers,
