Band Photography - Mobina Galore and Willhorse
I've started photographing bands coming through the doors at the Mansion in Kingston. What a great sounding venue for bands. This set is of the first of the bands I was able to shoot. Willhorse, from British Columbia opened up the night with some fantastic songs, and you should definitely check them out at www.willhorse.com. Then Mobina Galore jumped on stage. They are a unique two member band, fronted by Jenna Preistner on guitar and vocals and backed up by her bandmate Marcia Hanson on vocals and drums. What a sound. Strong, fast, punky, just raw awesomeness! Check them out at www.mobinagalore.com. Here are a few of the images from that night. Enjoy!
Napanee District Horse Club June 29th show
This past weekend I photographed the the riders participating at the Napanee horse show. What started off with the cancellation of the morning events due to weather turned into a fantastic day for the afternoon gaming events. I've never really seen gaming let alone photographed it, so it was quite a learning experience to know what the riders want to see in their photos. Like most sporting events, the competitors want to see a particular look when it comes to their position, and the the horses position. What I thought was a great shot, wasn't so much for the riders, however like photographing weddings, or hockey, its a learning experience.
I am shooting a lot of equestrian events this summer, more then I had ever thought I would, and I am really enjoying it. The best part, as it is with hockey, has to be seeing the kids faces then they see the photos of themselves on the monitor I have set up at each event.
I am looking forward to photographing the next event in Napanee, and then in Gananoque. Enjoy some of the photos from the event.
For the riders to view any of their photos online from the day please follow the following link:
Cheers,
Jason

Corner Stone Equestrian Event June 23, 2012
This past weekend I photographed an equestrian event at a local centre, Corner Stone Farm Equestrian Centre. What a great little facility for riders of all ages and skill levels. The day started out with dressage eventing followed by Modified and then Short Course jumping. Seeing eventing from the days with my little sister when she rode in competitions it was always interesting seeing the workmanship, however I was allowed to get a little closer to the action then the normal spectator, with only meters away from the jumps in the fields, it was pretty cool.
Well without further a-due here are a sample of some of the photos from the days events. For the riders and parents follow this link to view and purchase any photos from my site:
